It's generally recommended to keep away from Woollies. They can do massive damage, and getting close to it runs the risk of it smacking Neku with its trunk. This boss does not move at all, so Negative psychs like Flame Blast or even Holy Light work very well. Shockwave and other Positive psychs should be used with utmost care or avoided. On the DS version, levitating as Joshua allows the mammoth's top screen stomps to be simply avoided. If levitating Joshua isn't the partner, time 2 blocks right before the shockwave hits. Do not try to attack before the shockwave as anyone other than Joshua, or they will get hit. As Neku, there are two shockwave patterns: one that launches 4 hurtboxes, and one that launches 5. They will be in different locations every time, so as soon as the mammoth starts to attack, move away if close. Stand between two of the shockwaves. The shockwave can deal devastating damage, but the mammoth trumpets loudly right before it stomps, making it an easy dodge if listening well.
