"So I quit tryin' altogether. Give up on myself, so my folks would, too. And the funny thing is, they did. Not Rhyme, though. Yo, I could rob a bank and she'd still be there for me. She always had the right words. "I know you have a dream," she'd say. "You just haven't dreamed it yet." ...... But it got old-- bein' pitied by my lil' sister. So I started to push her away-- right up to the day we died.."
— Beat to Neku

Vanishing Point is a day in The World Ends with You. For the Animation equivalent, see The Countless Wrongs of Our Day.

Events[]

  • Shibuya begins being taken over by the Red Skull pins.
  • Beat opens up to Neku about Rhyme and dreams.

Plot[]

Neku and Beat wake up at the Scramble Crossing and realize another day's gone by. Beat panics, but Neku calms him down and finds out the Lv. 4 keypin Kariya gave Beat yesterday opens Udagawa. At Tipsy Tose Hall, Neku asks an agitated Beat if he's always on full blast, and Beat admits that he was extremely easy-going until coming to the UG. This attitude and his parent's high expectations about grades angered them, especially in comparison to Rhyme. Beat gave up, but Rhyme still believed in him and encouraged him to have a dream. Beat thought it was embarrassing and began pushing her away. Neku says Beat's dream was being the world's best skater, but Beat admits he made it up to encourage a self-deprecating Rhyme. He blames it for Rhyme sacrificing herself, but Neku tells him to live for himself and stop worrying about the future.
Trying to leave for Shibu-Q Heads, an unresponsive Reaper blocks the way. He starts reciting a strange, religious message and attacks. Neku thinks the Reaper wasn't in control, and Beat brings up how quiet Shibuya has been. Neku tries scanning, and realizes they're all thinking the same thing. Beat notices everyone has the Red Skull pins and concludes the Composer is CAT due to the Player Pins and Red Skull pins' similar design. Neku denies it due to Hanekoma being CAT and his trust in Hanekoma and Joshua. Beat argues it was a trick, but gets confused and simply says the Composer is the one messing up Shibuya.

At Shibu-Q Heads, a mob of Reapers attack Neku and Beat. Neku thinks about how the Reapers are affected and wonders if it really is the Pins. They head to Udagawa, but notice the Lv. 4 wall has been broken through. Beat goes in looking for Mitsuki Konishi, but Neku is cautious. At Udagawa, the graffiti Minamimoto had drawn before is covered in burn marks. Neku uses his camera to take a photo from four days ago and sees Hanekoma at the sigil. They determine themselves to get to Cat Street, but the exit is blocked by Kariya and Uzuki possessed by the Red Skull pin. They attack - when Neku and Beat defeat them, Neku tries to finish them off, but Beat stops him because he thinks they're not really being bad. Beat notices they have O-Pins on them, and they leave for Cat Street.

Walkthrough[]

Starting at the Scramble Crossing, start going towards Tipsy Tose Hall. Talk to the Reaper blocking the exit and fight. At Shibu Q-Heads, move to the left and fight the horde of Reapers. At Udagawa, investigate the graffiti. Beat and Neku will go to Cat Street, but Kariya and Uzuki are blocking the way. Their battle is considered one of the hardest fights in the game - they have the same attacks as last battle, but their proper sync and Fusion attacks make them a force to be reckoned with. Evade Uzuki, try to hamper Kariya's attacks, and use Fusions liberally. Defeat them to end the chapter.
