Backstory[]
Kai is the embodyment of Neku's Best Friend who tragically died in a car accident a few years before Neku's death. While Neku doesn't realize this at first, he slowly opens up to Kai, revealing his true emotions. However, before he became the embodyment of Neku's Friend, he was once a human too. Kai was a young boy, at the ripe, young age of 14. One day he was going up the top of his school to eat his lunch. While sitting at the edge of Pork City, someone pushed him off, resulting in him falling to his demise. The culprit was never found, and during that same day, Neku died as well, and Kai absorbed the spirit of Neku's Best Friend.
