Twister is the main theme of The World Ends with You. It is present in the game's soundtrack in four different versions: Twister, played during the opening cinematic; Twister-Gang-Mix and Twister - JP, used as battle themes; and Twister-remix, the final battle theme. The original version and Remix version have vocals by Sawa Kato while Gang Mix and JP have vocals by MJR and Mai Matsuda, respectively. The opening version, JP, and Remix were included in The World Ends with You Original Soundtrack album. A new That Power is Yet Unknown version was included alongside the full Original version and Gang Mix in the Subarashiki Kono Sekai + The World Ends with You album.
The song was remade as TWISTER -KINGDOM MIX- with vocals by Stephanie Topalian on the Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance OST where it was also featured in the game. The song was subsequently used in Solo Remix and Final Remix.
During the 2012 countdown leading to The World Ends with You -Solo Remix- announcement, a new version of Twister was used. With each passing day, more elements would be added to the song until the final day, where the full song was revealed to be Twister -Crossover-, a mashup song of Twister, Calling, and Hybrid. Crossover and its six countdown versions would later be reused in the 2020 countdown for NEO: The World Ends with You.
Twister has also received many more minor remixes throughout the years. Many of which were included in The World Ends With You: Final Remix alongside Final Remix versions of Twister, JP, and Gang Mix.
Due to the controversy surrounding ALI's drummer, the opening theme used for The World Ends with You The Animation was changed from Teenage City Riot to a new mix of Twister.
It was remixed for NEO: The World Ends with You under the name Twister -NEO Mix-.

- Twister could potentially be Neku's theme song, as some of the lyrics seem to refer to his ability to use Psychs and his antisocial attitude at the beginning of the game. It also played when he made his appearance in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance and NEO: The World Ends with You.
