Likes/Dislikes[]

Does anyone want add more columns onto these to specify what types of food each person likes? So far, I think that there are either 3 or 4 levels of appreciation (disgusting, neutral, and tasty with maybe alright in between ok and tasyty). This might help, especially if we figure out how much sync rises with each.LuminousChaos 17:53, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't be too hard to do, but first we'd have to find out how many levels there are, and what each character says for each level. And does anyone know how big the effect of like/dislike on sync rate is? Alinea 20:41, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I played around a bit today and worked out the sync multipliers for each level of appreciation. So far, it seems like there are 4 levels. I have a nagging suspicion that some characters might say more than one thing for each level, but I haven't managed to confirm that yet. Alinea 09:30, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
i think there is another level, since Josh also says something like "Mhhh! I'm in paradise!" Siral 13:14, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I always thought Neku's phrases got more positive over the game since all he ever did in the first few levels was "It's edible..." and later on he got more positive. -AzureDrake 16:59, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello[]

Heya guys. Just added some stuff about what they say when they eat different foods. I'll try to finish it by today. Great site, and I'd be glad to help ^^

Hey, nice work! Alinea 09:30, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Great work here! I know some more sayings for Shiki but I'm not exactly sure where they go, maybe one of you can find a place for them? "It's delicious!" and "... You finish it". Neku also has one that says "Not bad" and I think his bad one is "Ugh... Pass" Eskia 09:40, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks ^^ Added them up to the table. Hope we can flesh out all of the foods including their descriptions soon ^^ The site's looking great!--Shin 09:52, 3 May 2008 (UTC)--Shin 09:51, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Here's all the ones I know so far (order and exact wording subject to discussion):

Neku: "It's good", "Not bad", "It's edible", "Ugh... pass", "Gross!"

Shiki: "It's delicious!", "So yummy!", "Food's food", "You finish it", "Eugh!"

Joshua: "Mmm... I'm in paradise", ???, "It'll have to do", "No, thank you", ???

Beat: "It's a party in my mouth!", "This is great", ???, "Ugh, take it away", "Urgh, barf!"

The table was actually moved to the Food page, if you want to add anything to it. (Although it does look like it's already been completed there.) Maybe this talk topic should be moved there too, but I'll leave it for the time being. Silktail 19:27, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Thoughts on replacement options[]

Assuming the linked food list page isn't what was meant by an automatically generated list (since it isn't one) and that something similar to the sortable pin list is intended, I think I can pitch a few ideas. First, a list using the #ask approach, as far as I know, won't work without defining property values for all the food items. This would mean modifying the food infobox template to convert the variables into property data much as the pin infobox template does, and would also require that the properties themselves be defined individually before the template could identify them correctly. As for something akin to pin box qr, as far as I can tell no list for pins actually uses this template to begin with, including the thumbnail version (which uses a highly complex series of templates that call upon other templates, creating an absolute nightmare to work with). The only page using a qr style template I know of it the Swag List, which isn't sortable and involved entering each item manually (though I suppose a template to that calls upon the qr template could alleviate that). In short, neither option is perfectly simple, but I'd figure the creation of property data to be the more flexible and more easily implemented approach (assuming the existing main food list isn't considered sufficient). A qr approach is actually far more rigid as it only allows for a single layout on any page using it. Property data by comparison could be used to create several different food tables, such as on individual shop pages, while allowing each table to specify the included data to be included.
