Wouldn't this be the most powerful offensive set in the game?
Vampire Dress
Black Book Bag
Ribbon Mini-Hat
Black Raglan Tee
(Cosmic SOS alternative: Goth Bondage Coat)
(Puck Power Alternative: Pi-Face's Coat)
Tin Pin Thrift is in the Pin Deck.
This setup should increase the SOS multiplier to 2.7 (2.4 for Cosmic SOS) and increase ATK by 47. It should have higher damage than your suggested SOS.
For example,
Ice Risers on Ultimate Your Postgame SOS: DMG=((165+(43x1x1))2x1x(0.4-0))(2-1)1 DMG=((165+43)2x0.4)(1)1 DMG=((208)0.8 DMG=166.4 DMG~166 My Postgame SOS: DMG=((145+(43x1x1))2.7x1x(0.4-0))(2-1)1 DMG=((145+43))2.7x0.4)(1)1 DMG=(188)1.08 DMG=203.04 DMG~203
Anguis on Ultimate with a 5x Puck: Yours DMG=((165+999)2x1x(0.4-0))(2-1)5 DMG=1164x2x0.4x5 DMG=2328x2 DMG=4656 Mine DMG=((145+999)2.7x1x(0.4-0))(2-1)5 DMG=((1144)x2.7x0.4x5 DMG=1144x5.4 DMG=6177.6 DMG~6178? Maybe 6177.

- Uhh no. Your Cap = +35, Goth Bondage Coat = +27, Vampire Dress = +9, Black Book Bag = +30, therefore base attack is +101. I don't know where you got 165 from. The 2.7X modifier does deal more damage when it comes to high attack pins like Anguis and Dope Line, but it cannot be used with Cosmic SOS. GipFace
- While his maths is wrong, Ryuusei is right. Basically you're trading Your Cap for Ribbon mini hat and if you're not doing cosmic SOS you're trading Black Raglan Tee for Pi Face's Jeans.
The hats Your cap = +35 atk Ribbon mini hat = +4 atk + 20% damage Let total atk = x (not including SOS multipliers, efficacy etc) 35 = 4 +.2x 31 = .2x x = 155
- If your total atk is equal to 155, the two hats are the same. Anything over this ribbon mini hat starts winning, by .2 times however much your atk is over 155 (base + pin) not including other effects like efficacy etc. This includes the pin's atk (after multiplying for resonance/trends) so assuming you have maximum base atk (100) you only need an extra 14 from your pin (assuming you're wearing vampire dress and black book bag) for the ribbon mini hat start to win out. I didn't take the total SOS multiplier into account because
a) SOS multipliers are additive not multiplicative to each other b) aside from these hats, the rest of the set up is the same
Likewise for Tee v Jeans
Tee v Jeans Pi-Face's Jeans = +30 atk Black Raglan Tee = +2 atk + 20% damage Let total atk = x (not including SOS multiplier) 30 = 2 +.2x 28 = .2x x = 140
- An even lower break point. So yes, in summary post game SOS is best off with SOS ATK boost I even compared to high atk items like your cap/pi-face's jeans; assuming your atk is maxed out by food items. Def suffers, but at that point, with maxed base DEF and a decent amount of HP food, that should be a non-issue. Ryuusei is right even though his math was wrong, at least based on the damage formula on this wiki.
- Someone correct me if I'm wrong; I'm going to change the main page in a month if no one puts up convincing evidence to the contrary. On an aside, I'll leave main game SOS as it is as this setup will lead to a swift death without some decent base DEF during the main game. Also assuming this is read by someone who is playing the game on the first time, they're more likely to cop more damage and die without the SOS DEF boosts.
- P.S. sorry I changed your note a bit Ryuusei, but that code boxes are probably better for showing off math than new headings.Serrin19 22:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, math error. Should use 2.2 and 2.0 as the multipliers instead of 1.2 and 1.0. Doing that reveals a less subtle change, in favour of the current setup. I guess I should do proper scientific testing instead of just looking at numbers that pop up occasionally. Break point for Ribbon mini hat is 310 atk total under cosmic SOS and even higher with tin pin thrift. Serrin19 12:38, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
