The longer you hold it, the more dmg it does. Of course, how long you hold it is dependant on the situation and your personal play style. Personally, I hate standing still, so I dont really use these. But on the rare occasions I do throw one of these in, I tend it keep the charge time reletively short, and unless your fighting slow ass noise alot, I recommend you do the same.
