SuDDeN DeaTH is a day in NEO: The World Ends with You.

Synopsis

Shiba Miyakaze announces that the game will now be a battle to the death, and releases Plague Noise on the city. Working together with the Variabeauties, the Twisters realise that UV light will reveal the Plague Noise and make them vulnerable to attack. The Shibuya Reapers also reveal that they are underhandedly helping the Twisters save the city.

Plot

As the day begins, Shiba Miyakaze announces that he is moving the game into "Sudden Death" and that the only objective will be to defeat him in order to save Shibuya. Shoka Sakurane re-approaches the Twisters and explains that Ayano Kamachi told her to obtain information on the Twisters' powers in order to be allowed to rejoin the Reapers, but that she decided not to because she does not want to see Rindo or Shibuya erased. Rindo also notes that although he has had no reply from Swallow, her account is still open, meaning that she was not on the Purehearts team and therefore must be on the Variabeauties.

As they move through the city, the Twisters are attacked by Plague Noise which they are still unable to harm, and agree with Kanon Tachibana that they will attempt to observe and learn about this Noise in order to work out how to defeat it. As they explore the city, they meet a Shinjuku Reaper named Hishima Sakazuki who tells them that Plague Noise are vulnerable to a certain type of light. The Variabeauties inform them that some people in the RG have seen Plague Noise when under the light emitted by bug zappers, which suggests that UV light is the key.

The Twisters buy a blacklight from Tokyu Hands where they are met by Uzuki Yashiro and Koki Kariya, who attack them with Plague Noise in spite of the Twisters' protests that as Shibuya Reapers they should be on their side. However, after the battle Koki notes that the Plague Noise that Uzuki summoned was rather weak and back-handedly notes that it's almost as if she's trying to coach them to fight it. The Twisters conclude that the Reapers are in fact their allies, but cannot say so.

Shoka Sakurane tells the others that Plague Noise can suck the Soul from living people, creating an effect called "the Reverb" which filled Shinjuku before it was erased. A horde of frog Plague Noise begins to pursue the Twisters, and they race to Tokyu Plaza where they use the mirrors surrounding the entrance to Il Cavallo Del Re to reflect the UV light over them and defeat them.

The afterpiece shows Shiba Miyakaze and Ayano Kamachi arguing about Shoka, with Ayano upset that Shoka did not rejoin the Reapers. Shiba suggests presenting her with an ultimatum.
