Soundsurf (サウンドサーフ Saundosaafu) is a latent ability and mechanic introduced in NEO: The World Ends with You as Beat's latent ability, allowing him and the people he syncs with[1] to move at high speeds. It is unlocked the first day Beat is playable, Sound♪Surfer.
After unlocking it, Rindo can Soundsurf in the overworld by pressing B/PS4 and PC buttonsTemplate:Verify. Pressing to the beat of the music adds 5% to the Groove counter in the next battle, up to 20%. After finishing the Reaper Commentator's sidequest in CHECKMATE! (Week 2, Day 7), his reward Super Soundsurf can be unlocked, increasing the Groove bonus to 10% each time, however the cap remains at 20%. There are Soundsurf mixes for songs played in the overworld while Soundsurfing.
