The Shibuya River is an area of Shibuya. It stretches for 2.6 kilometers or 1.6 miles between the Miyamasu and Tengenji bridges. Being a shallow river without a real source, it has been converted to a sewer. In the Underground the Shibuya River houses the Officers and the Composer and a major part of The World Ends with You's climax. it is inaccessible until the final day, and is reached via the Station Underpass. It consists of the Trail of the Sinner, the Rubicon, the Trail of the Bygone, the Dead God's Pad, the Trail of the Judged, and the Room of Reckoning.
Story[]
The Shibuya River is first mentioned in Joshua, Day 4 by Joshua in his attempt to "jack" Shibuya. The phone tracker which Hanekoma built for him (tracking the Conductor Megumi Kitaniji's Imagination as revealed in the Secret Reports) leads him and Neku to the Shibuya River. They find the river at Joshua, Day 5, but it is blocked. They are attacked by a Trance Rhino where Joshua reveals his true powers.

The Shibuya River after Minamimoto breaks in
Beat aspires to break into the Shibuya River and become the Composer to save Rhyme. He leads a newly-partnered Neku to it, and attempts to physically break down the wall. Hanekoma leaves behind an extremely powerful keypin in Beat, Day 6 that can unlock the Shibuya River's barrier - when they arrive on Beat, Day 7 it has been torn down by Sho Minamimoto. They defeat Mitsuki Konishi, recover Rhyme's pin, reunite with Shiki, defeat Megumi Kitaniji and Draco Cantus, and Neku has his final duel with Joshua.
In Another Day, Joshua is staying in the Shibuya River waiting to be picked up by Hanekoma. After the second story event, the Shibuya River is accessible and the Final Time Attack can be played there.
In A New Day, Yoshiya flees into the river to avoid Neku and Beat. Going deeper into the river are several Reapers - upon defeating their Noise battles, they award a Gourmet Rice Ball and a 100,000 Yen pin.
