An overview of a Scramble Slam in the streets menu.
Scramble Slam (渋谷スクランブルバトル Shibuya sukuranburubatoru, Shibuya Scramble Battle) is a game mechanic in NEO: The World Ends with You. They occur on three days: Week 1, Day 6, Week 2, Day 3 and Week 2, Day 6.
It is a citywide turf war that has teams of Players vying for control of areas in Shibuya. An area can be claimed by erasing the orange Turf Noise or taking down the rival team members in an area.
How to get points[]
According to the developer: "The top prize is a powerful pin, so you'd probably be tempted to try and get it on your first go, but it'd be quite difficult to achieve the score needed to obtain it. I recommend clearing the main story first and then use Chapter Select to challenge it again post-game. Here's a little trick: when you successfully complete a combo, a multiplier appears on the left side of the screen. It's important to build and maintain this multiplier if you want to get a high score, so you'll have to keep your attacks going consistently and really make them count. In order to do that, one half of the party should be equipped with weak pins to pull off combos and increase SYNC rates, while the other half should be equipped with strong pins to finish off enemies."
Tips[]
During the second Scramble Slam, it is recommended to intentionally lose areas to the other teams in order to get more points. After conquering the Scramble, it is mentioned the Purehearts and the Variabeauties are teaming up on 104; if the player goes to Shibuya Hikarie, they will conquer Crossing, so this is recommended. Later on, during the option to divide the team, choose not to so the Variabeauties will conquer Center Street.

Trivia[]
- In the Japanese version of NEO, the menu calls the Scramble Slam "Struggle". This is a presumably a reference to the minigame in Kingdom Hearts II where players fight each other to collect points. In both games, points can also be stolen from the player if they are attacked.
- The idea of Scramble Slam is very similar to the original concept of The World Ends with You, when it was imagined to be a game about conquering territories from opponents as part of a city-building simulator.
