Plot[]

Neku wakes up in the Scramble Crossing again. Joshua is on his phone, talking to someone who Neku suspects is the same person as the day before about visiting a place for something he needs. Neku waits for the mission, and gets confused when the mission hasn't shown up. Joshua asks Neku to come with him to somewhere he wants to go to fill his promise of doing what Joshua wants after completing yesterday's mission. Neku rejects him and says they'll only do it after the mission, which could appear at any time. Joshua's phone buzzes, and he reads out a mission mail saying to reach Cat Street in 15 minutes. Neku panics because it's on the other side of Shibuya and rushes to Cat Street.
Exhausted, Neku arrives at Cat Street. He doesn't notice a timer on his hand and wonders why he didn't because they got the mission mail. Neku checks his phone and realizes there's no mission mail as Joshua follows behind and directs him to a café. Joshua admits he lied about the mission to get them to Cat Street, and makes them go into the cafe. The owner is Hanekoma, who apologizes to Neku for Shiki Misaki becoming his entry fee, and takes both of their phones. Joshua says he's known Hanekoma for a long time, and all the times he was talking on his phone was to Hanekoma. Neku thinks about how he shouldn't be so suspicious of Joshua if Hanekoma trusts him.
Title drop
Outside, Joshua wanders off and Hanekoma speaks to Neku. He says he started his own café WildKat, he knew Joshua because of his power of seeing the UG when alive, and the tracker locates energy spikes across Shibuya (in the Secret Reports, Hanekoma expands on this to be the Conductor's Imagination). Hanekoma tells Neku to walk with Joshua if he's bored, and reminds Neku that if he wants to survive the Game he has to trust his partner. When he says to enjoy every moment with all he has, Neku is surprised and explains it's the motto of the one person he respects and his mantra. Hanekoma says Neku has a long way to go and tells him the world ends with him. Neku doesn't understand, but Hanekoma ushers him away.
When leaving Towa Records, Beat ambushes them. He declares Neku isn't his friend anymore and he's going to erase both of them. After a one-sided fight, Beat leaves, saying Neku is too weak to be worth beating. Joshua is indignant over how Reapers directly attacking Players this early is against the rules.
At the Scramble Crossing, Joshua gets a response. It leads them up to Dogenzaka, to a new ramen shop Shadow Ramen. The owner kicks them out for cutting in line - when Neku and Joshua go outside Neku realizes they can't wait in line because they're invisible, but the tracker is definitely responding to a signal inside the store. When Neku asks what they're tracking, Joshua dodges the question. They hear Ken Doi complaining about the store possessed by Negative Noise. When they erase it, he goes inside his shop, Ramen Don. While eating his "The Big Catch" special, Joshua and Neku witness a confrontation the Shadow Ramen owner has with Ken pressuring him into an offer prioritizing the presentation over the food, then leaves. Ken asks if Joshua and Neku want to hear his story. Neku initially wants to say no, but after thinking of something Shiki said on Shiki, Day 3, listens. He explains Ramen Don's profits are running low and it will close by the end of this month if he doesn't turn business around. Shadow Ramen offered to buy Ramen Don out, but Ken Doi is disgusted by their values of money-making and showing off rather than making good ramen. When fangirls start screaming outside, Ken tells them to see for themselves. They see The Prince entering Shadow Ramen and F'ing the food. Joshua explains people flock to places he mentions on his blog, F Everything, that averages 100,000 hits a day. The restaurant is half food, half show, from staff dancing as they cook and Shadow Ramen gifting Red Skull pins to every customer in the opening month. Neku realizes the owner is Makoto Miki, the businessman he helped promote the Red Skull pins in Shiki, Day 6.
Trackers b like i know a spot
After being kicked out of Shadow Ramen again, Joshua declares they need to spend the rest of the day getting to the bottom of the mystery of the "Dogenzaka Ramen Wars". Neku argues they need to do the mission, but is defeated when Joshua asks what mission. At A-East, they see Makoto and the Prince arguing. Mick provided the Prince text and pictures for his article on Shadow Ramen, but the Prince didn't use it for his blog. He thinks its against his morals to lie to his fans and blog for someone else, but Mick assures him its about image and his fans won't care. The Prince gets possessed by Negative Noise. The Prince tells himself its his own blog where he lists his own thoughts, feelings, the ramen he'd actually want to eat. He reminisces on the simple ramen "Sebastian" used to make, and leaves. When Neku says he doesn't get why the Prince is so hung up on ramen, Joshua opines everyone has their own internal world that follows its own logic that means nothing in another and ultimately, understanding people is impossible.
Mick gifts everyone in line Red Skull pins, calling them "CAT-designed and hard to find". Joshua notices his tracker is responding heavily to it, but he isn't tracking a thing. Neku, as a CAT fan, talks about how it angers him that Mick is using CAT's enjoy the moment motto to trick people. Imprinting a "Simple" meme Neku and Joshua received from the Prince, Ken Doi runs back inside and gives them a bowl of regular ramen. The Prince begs them to let him try the ramen and F's it, saying it was the ramen Sebastian made. The Prince asks Ken Doi if he was Sebastian, and he confirms and tells Prince that the future is a clean slate, and he's the chalk. Makoto walks in and tells Ken Doi that the place will be closed in a month, and it's bad image for Prince to be eating at "the other guy". The Prince makes a stand and refuses to be a part of the Shadow Ramen promotion any longer after tasting Sebastian's ramen. He realizes his attempts experimenting were trying to be popular when he already had good ramen, and determines himself to cook as much simple ramen as he can in a month.
After leaving, Joshua intellectualizes to Neku about how everyone in Shibuya is struggling to peek into their neighbors' worlds. When those neighbors change, they get scared, and feel they have to change themselves, even if it's what makes them who they are. Because people live in a community and live by its rules, the more people connect with others the trickier it gets. Neku joins in, saying he's living free without people's rules like CAT and people aren't meant to understand each other. Joshua notices the signal he got from the pins is disappearing, only responding to Neku's Red Skull pin. Joshua theorizes it was reacting to the much stronger signal of a lot of Red Skull pins, but its not what he was looking for. When Neku asks what it is, Joshua answers its what the tracker is tracking. Neku angrily asks in his head what Joshua is after.

Walkthrough[]

When Joshua gets the mission, go to Shibu Dept. Store to Cadoi City. The Reaper wants three wolf Noise symbols defeated to clear the way to Towa Records. At Miyashita Park Underpass, the Reaper blocking Miyashita Park wants a Pop Pendulum. Noise No. 56, Carcinosamps, drops them on Normal. Go through Miyashita Park to Cat Street. Enter WildKat Cafe. Talk through the topics with Hanekoma. After that, return to the Scramble. When exiting Towa Records, Reaper Beat will attack. Defeating him isn't required - simply survive for roughly 30 seconds and the battle will end. Joshua will pick up a signal at the Scramble that comes from the north. The Reaper blocking the way to 104 requires Natural Puppy to be the number one brand. Fight a few battles wearing Natural Puppy-branded threads and pins until it becomes the number one brand, then talk to the Reaper to clear the wall. Move into Dogenzaka. Enter Shadow Ramen. After Makoto kicks Joshua and Neku out, clear the Negative Noise possessing Ken Doi. Go inside Ramen Don. After the cutscene, go back inside Shadow Ramen, and then go to A-East after being kicked out again. Talk to the Prince or Makoto. When the Prince gets possessed by Negative Noise, defeat it. Using the meme from the Prince, "Simple", imprint it onto Ken Doi to end the chapter.
