A victim of Reverb.
Reverb is an ailment caused by Plague Noise in NEO: The World Ends with You. It is a condition that can affect Players, Reapers, and residents in the Realground alike, due to the Plague Noise eroding the barrier between the Underground and the Realground, making them capable of afflicting a wide range of victims with Reverb. When one is possessed by Plague Noise, their Soul is slowly consumed until they become nothing but an empty husk, left only with Reverb.
Shibuya Syndrome is the name given to classify the symptoms of Reverb as perceived by people living in the Realground. In a news report seen at the end of Week 3, Day 2, the symptoms of Shibuya Syndrome include "loss of consciousness, sudden fits of confusion, and an overwhelming sense of ennui." Cases of Shibuya Syndrome begin to rapidly surge throughout Week 3 and can be observed via scanning people with a Thought Fragment entitled "..." and containing nothing but an ellipsis. In the English version of NEO, the social media handles of those who are afflicted with Reverb change to @DownWithTheSyndrome.
According to Shoka Sakurane, Reverb had previously appeared in the citizens of Shinjuku prior to the city's Inversion.
Reverb is similar to the condition inflicted by the Red Skull pins from The World Ends with You, but is much more dangerous in comparison.
