All pigs try to move off screen, except the powerful Pig Butoh who is only encountered in Pork City. If you allow one to go off either screen, it and all other pigs will flee from both screens at once. Therefore the best way to beat pig Noise is to use pins that either knock an enemy back, make it pause while being attacked, or equipping clothes which give you free Fusion Stars, so you can do a Fusion attack at the start of the battle. Normally you partners attacks will pause it's movements on the bottom screen as well. |

Pig Noise is a special type of Noise that only shows up on certain days in certain areas. Each Pig Noise is green in color during a scan, but each Pig Noise can have many different pigs. Pig Noise often drop rare pins, and are often necessary to defeat in order to get the secret reports. Pigs can be difficult to erase as they may have high defense or HP, and always try to escape from battle, though they will not attack the player (one species is an exception to the latter two rules however).
Should you fail to defeat it, you can simply scan for the Noise symbol again and start over. However, once you have beaten a pig Noise in the area, it will not return on that day.
Pig Noise encounters have predetermined drops and difficulty ratings independent from your settings. They will not appear on your Noise list, until you beat them at Pork City. For players wishing to assemble a complete Lv 1 Noise Report, it is important to make sure those fights at Pork City are done at Lv 1.
The locations of Pig Noise can be found on the Pig Noise location page.
Types of Pig Noise
These are the characteristics of each Pig Noise, but note that some are slightly different in different encounters:
- — Pig Samba
- Simply defeat one before it runs off screen.
- Or defeat the whole group if multiple pigs appear.
- — Pig Cha-cha
- This pig takes little damage from attacks, use lots of quick attacks before it runs off screen.
- Defeat three before they run off screen
- If this pig is asleep, then to kill it you must put the DS into sleep mode (close it) and reopen it without attacking it.
- — Pig Salsa
- Defeat the pig before the counter above its head disappears - this count down goes down any time it is visible, including Fusions.
- If there are several, then defeat the pigs in numerical order.
- — Pig Rhumba
- Defeat one while it's invisible on the bottom screen, your partner's attacks also make it visible for a short while.
- — Pig Tango
- Defeat the dark red pig with the [5] countdown over its head by attacking it in relentless combos - the countdown only goes down while idle.
- — Pig Polka
- Defeat the blue horned pig by attacking it with both partners simultaneously. Try using pins with a long lasting attack, or many rapid hits. (Burst Rounds work well for this as the bullet passes through the pig, ensuring a hit when your partner attacks.
