The World Ends With You

Party in the 'Buya is an extra chapter in NEO: The World Ends with You.

Continuing the tradition started in the first game, Another Day is more lighthearted in tone and characterization than the main story. Unlike in the previous game, story progress is kept; the fullness gauge limit is also increased, allowing the player to increase their stats more. Previous music which was only heard in cutscene or overworld tracks is now used as battle tracks for more variety.

Another Day is set an an alternate universe, although it is unclear if it is set in the same universe as Another Day in the first game.

Plot[]

The Wicked Twisters have reunited to attend the Shibuyapalooza Music Festival at 104, featuring Def Märch, but Fret has lost their tickets. Fortunately, the Reapers are running a side event, the Reaper's Romp, with the prize being tickets to the event. All the Twisters need to do is to visit three checkpoints throughout the city and then return...though each one is guarded by a powerful Noise.

Walkthrough[]

Noise[]

Another Day features five more powerful versions of already existing bosses:

  • Cervus Cantus α at the West Exit Bus Terminal, accessed by talking to Kanon Tachibana. Kanon flirts with Fret in an attempt to sell him an overpriced city guide, and when the Twisters try to pull him out of it, calls Kaichi "Susukichi" Susuki as "security". Notably, Cervus Cantus α does not have a second phase, unlike the original fight.
  • Grus Cantus α in Miyashita Park, accessed by talking to Tsugumi Matsunae. Tsugumi and Nagi recognize each other as fellow fans of Lord Ishimoto, a musician, and argue over their love for him.
  • Iris Cantus α in Tokyu Plaza, accessed by talking to Ayano Kamachi.
  • Shiba α in the Scramble Crossing. After defeating Cervus, Grus, and Iris, the player can talk to Hishima, and he'll call Shiba over for the final boss fight. Note that once you fight Shiba, Another Day will end, and reloading the day will start you over from the beginning.
  • Felidae Cantus at the Expressway Underpass, accessed by talking to Sho Minamimoto.

Side Activities[]

Besides the main story, Another Day has three optional "sidequests," all of which are incredibly difficult and warn the player of "seriously strong Noise ahead" before being started. Note that all three will not appear until the player talks to Hishima Sakazuki about signing up for the Reaper's Romp.

  1. Rhyme's Dive, the final (and longest) Dive challenge in the game, at 10 reductions. Accessed by talking to Rhyme in Dogenzaka. The game gives you 25 minutes to complete this Dive, and every medal gives you 5 FP for a maximum of 15.
  2. Final Time Trial, accessed by talking to Coco in Takeshita Street. Like the original, Final Time Attack is an 11-round reduction of several bosses in the game; Go-go Beringei, Fuya, Motoi, Susukichi, Mr. Mew, Grus Cantus, Iris Cantus, Leo Cantus Armo, Cervus Cantus, Shiba, and Phoenix Cantus. Unlike the original, your time will be logged regardless of difficulty, though your time on easier difficulties will be overwritten by your time on harder difficulties, even if it takes longer.
  3. Felidae Cantus, NEO's superboss, accessed by talking to Minamimoto in the Expressway Underpass. Felidae is a much more difficult version of Leo Cantus Armo, being much faster, having higher HP, doing more damage, having more attacks, and spending much more time in his armored form.

Completing all three activities in one run of Another Day and then defeating Shiba α rewards the player with a separate ending from the original Another Day.

Notes[]

  • The Another Day in NEO had a "very difficult" development and was added near the end of the game's development. Because the developers knew fans were looking forward to it, it was kept in.[1] This may explain why the Another Day in NEO is shorter compared to the first game.
  • Sho Minamimoto in Another Day is the same as the main game. According to the developers, the underlying theme is to remove the Soul Pulvis he's captured. Minamimoto came to the parallel world due to the influence of the Soul Pulvis.
