Neku using Local Fire, Distant Sea to attack Noise with obstacles

An obstacle is any item on the battlefield that isn't stationary, including traffic cones, cars, and other objects. Such objects can impede the movement of both the player and Noise, though they can also be used by either party in combat depending on what pins or abilities, respectively, they have. Effectively, the larger an obstacle used for an attack is, the greater the damage inflicted.

List of obstacles[]

Battle Object - Panda Statue

The rare Panda Statue

The following is a list of obstacles from the lightest/smallest to the heaviest/largest, along with the respective Efficiencies of the various Psychs that utilize them. Obstacles listed as "rare" are either rarely found or limited to specific areas.

The separate columns for Psychokinesis are due to how the Touch (T) variety has different efficiencies than the Slash (S) and Drag (D) varieties. In the case of Joshua's ground finisher, the obstacles are produced when he completes a combo and vanish after use. The post-explosion collision of Pressure Mine is when, after the detonation, the mined obstacle then collides with an enemy on the recoil.

In Solo Remix, Joshua's ground combo drops increasingly larger objects as he lands consecutive hits. The cars are only dropped after obtaining the (S) Heavy Hitter sticker.

Some Psychokinesis pins as well as Velocity Crash are capable of throwing around enemies as if they were inanimate obstacles. The following table shows the efficiencies based on the enemy's species. All boss noise (as evidenced by a boss HP gauge), including unique boss varieties of common noise species, cannot be used as obstacles by Psychokinesis. Foxes don't appear to change values while mimicking other enemies. (Velocity Crash collision damage can seemingly be dealt by Sweeper as well provided there is a Velocity Crash pin equipped, with the collisions occurring as the enemies drop after the psych ends.)
