Miranda Parkin in 2021

Miranda Parkin (born February 5, 2000[1]) is an American artist and voice actress based in Los Angeles. She the English voice of Nagi Usui in NEO: The World Ends with You.

Parkin started doing vocal performances from a young age as a choir student[2] as well as voice acting for a few commercials. She also has a passion for art and animation and is working on an animated pilot in which she will play the main character[3].

She has gained a popularity within the fan community for The World Ends with You for being one of the voice actors to be more active with the community. On her YouTube channel, she has made a number of Nagi-related videos such as reacting to and voicing internet memes relating to Nagi.

Trivia[]

  • Nagi's voice was inspired by Entrapta and Peridot from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and Steven Universe, respectively. [4]
  • Parkin voiced Nagi to be "the most awkward indoor lesbian [that she] could" make her.[5]
  • While Parkin knew all of the spoilers regarding Nagi's character from recording for her, she forgot them all by the time that she was announced to play her.[6]
  • Parkin played Animal Crossing: New Horizons on breaks while recording for Nagi.[7]
  • Due to the COVID-19 outbreak that occurred during the recording for NEO, many of Parkin's lines were recorded from home. She has said that she recorded many of these in a jumpsuit of the character Mugman from Cuphead while eating from a plate of lettuce "like a gremlin".[8]
    • Due to heat, she would occasionally record lines in just her underwear.[9]
  • Parkin has said that many of the "fangirling" sounds that Nagi makes are what she says internally when she meets someone that she admires.
