Manami Akita (秋田 愛美 Akita Minami) is a minor character in NEO: The World Ends with You. She was the best friend of a now-deceased Variabeauty, and has become an Eiji Oji fan as she moves on from her friend's death

Manami Akita is a woman wearing grey short-shorts, a white shirt, and a bright pink jacket with lighter undersides on the sleeves. Her face is featureless, but she has long blonde hair and pale skin.
Story[]
NEO: The World Ends with You[]
Manami Akita had a best friend who promised to take her to a restaurant on a specific day every year[1]. About six months before the events of NEO, her friend had died, joined the Reapers' Game, and become a Variabeauty. She first formally appears in LiVing LeGend (Week 2, Day 2), the specific day her friend promised to take her to the restaurant and possessed by Noise amplifying her grief. The Variabeauty asks the Wicked Twisters to erase the Noise inside her. Nagi Usui Dives into her mind, letting Manami Akita move on. In exchange, the Variabeauty gives them a tip about Neku's possible whereabouts.
The sidequest "A Prince Possessed" unlocks Manami Akita on Social Network. She gives Eiji Oji a single iris flower, recently rumored in Shibuya to make the recipient take on the gifter's woes. He begins to miss his old caretaker, Iris. Nagi Dives into him to erase the Noise possessing him. Manami Akita hopes that he likes her gift.
Etymology[]
- The name Manami means "love, affection" (愛) (mana) and "beautiful" (美) (mi).
- Manami's surname Akita means "autumn" (秋) (aki) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta).
