Keiichi Okada (岡田 ケイイチ, Okada Keiichi) is a long-time worker of the Jupiter of the Monkey on Cat Street. In recent times, he is the store's manager.

Appearance

Keiichi has brown hair and brown eyes. In The World Ends with You, he wears an orange and blue turtleneck zip top with two black wristbands, white pants, and an employee card lanyard around his neck. In NEO: The World Ends with You, he wears a JoTM-brand black-and-orange button up jacket with gray pants and a beanie with blue sunglasses.

Personality

He has a passion for rapping, as seen in his dialogue in both The World Ends with You and NEO: The World Ends with You. When Fret scans him, he's "brain-rapping" about his employee not having opened the shop or answered any of his calls or texts.

Biography

Background

He actually does not live in Shibuya and lives in a neighboring prefecture and has a long train commute to the store. He enjoys these long commutes as it gives him time to listen to hip hop. He thinks of Daisukenojo "Beat" Bito as his "brah".

The World Ends with You

Keiichi is present in the Jupiter of the Monkey shop whenever it is accessible during the game.

NEO: The World Ends with You

Keiichi briefly appears during Week 2, Day 2 waiting for his employee, Go Modoriyama, to open up the Jupiter of the Monkey shop because he's the one with the only key to it. After Modoriyama is imprinted on to "go to work", the shop opens and is available for the rest of the game.

Etymology

Keiichi's surname "Okada" means "mount/hill/knoll" 岡 (oka) and "rice field/paddy" 田 (da).

In the international versions of The World Ends with You, his first name is shortened to K1. This is a pun on how the kanji character for "one" can be read as 一 (ichi) in Japanese, meaning that K1 is read as "Keiichi".
