The World Ends With You

Felidae Cantus is a secret boss in NEO: The World Ends with You. It is an advanced version of Leo Cantus Armo.

Felidae Cantus can be accessed in Another Day. By talking to the Reaper by Scramble Crossing's route to 104 Building and Hishima by Hachiko's statue, Felidae Cantus will be made available in Expressway Underpass.

Description[]

A frustrating foe that memorizes any attacks you use and calculates how to avoid and counter them. Be sure to pack plenty of psychs and keep using ones he's yet to encounter.

Abilities[]

  • Like his previous counterpart of Leo, Felidae Cantus dons an armour that prevents him from getting high damages.
  • He summons a geyser of lava that can be tracked by looking at the cracks on the floor.
  • He marks one or more pins when his armour is depleted by a certain amount, making the attacks of that pin (or character) immediately be followed by a counter.
  • A cinematic attack is also in the fight, which may easily defeat the team if hit.
  • Teleports to counter occasional attacks (whilst reciting SOHCAHTOA)

Strategy[]

Like Leo Cantus Armo, Felidae Cantus is rather weak to Water affinity pins. Equipping such pins will deal relatively bigger damage than non-Water affinity pins, making the fight slightly easier. However, Felidae Cantus is one ferocious opponent, quick to attack and counter so make sure to keep an eye on him.

When you see him preparing to dash towards you, dodge at the final second. It is also ideal to attack right after he does. Stay away from the cracks on the floor as it will sooner or later erupt lava.

Some of the pins equipped (or characters in turn) will be marked by 'eyes' that allows him to counter right after and sometimes can one-hit the team. To avoid this, immediately dodge when using that pin to attack.

He also does a cinematic attack (a ground pound paired with lava geysers). As soon as you see him ascending, make sure to run towards the furthest part so you won't get hit. This attack can one-hit your team as well though after he does the attack, his armour will be shed, rendering his main HP defenceless. Attack as much and as fast as you can but also keep an eye on him as he also fights back afterwards.

It is also advisable to come into the fight with a max Groove then continue to build it up to 300% before doing a Killer Remix when his health significantly low to increase the drop rate 3x if you're looking for his pin drops.

Patience. Felidae Cantus is indeed a strong enemy to defeat, which is why you have to stay calm and wait. The key to defeating him is perfect timing of dodges and attacks, and learning from your previous fights with him. Use his assets to your advantage as well; most of the attacks are accompanied by voice lines so knowing what to listen for will help you figure out his coming attack.

A Twitter user reported being able to do massive damage to Felidae by initiating a Water affinity level 1 Super move, and then as that move is starting up, attacking with a pin marked with the eye symbol. The objective is to cause the super to begin taking effect while Felidae is in the middle of performing their counter, which causes massive damage due to hitting both as a counter and in a weak element.

Recommended Pins[]

As Felidae Cantus is weak against Water, it is highly suggested to use Water affinity pins in general though Time Bomb- and Homing Rocket-psych Water pins would also work since he cannot directly counter projectiles and mines. Below is a list of pins that are effective against him:

  • Black Cat Ensemble (Black Cat Crush, Black Cat Burst, Black Cat Comet, Black Cat Burn, Black Cat Cards, Black Cat Blades) - the strongest ensemble in the game; amplifies attack by 200%, ideal to use if farming for Scarletites or 10 000 Yen. Unfortunately, you need to have already beaten Felidae once on Normal or Hard in order to get a pin needed to complete this set.
  • Yearlong Ensemble (St Autumnus' Strike, St Hiem's Shotgun, St Aestas' Shrapnel, St Ver's Uppercut) + Water affinity pins - the HP Vampire ability of the Yearlong Ensemble will keep your team healthy as each attack regenerates health relative to the damage given.
  • Revivify Ensemble (HOG Healer, FANG Defender) + Water affinity pins - HOG Healer heals the team while FANG Defender puts a shield that, when destroyed, heals the team as well.
  • Let The Rain Fall Down, Lightning in My Hands + Revivify Ensemble or 4x Spin Twinz or 2x Spin Twinz and 2x Kappa Panic - Circuit Breaker-psych pins will also work against him since their attacks are rather strong. Equipped with the Revivify Ensemble to keep the health at a decent amount. Multiple copies of Water-affinity pins increases damage overall since he is weak against it.
