Akira Yoshii (吉井 アキラ, Yoshii Akira) is the owner of Luxury fashions Pegaso Atelier at Shibu Dept. Store.

Appearance

Akira has blond, slicked back hair and wears a black suit, Pegaso's own Regal Presence. He wears a blank dog tag necklace and places his employee card on his left breast.

Personality

Akira exudes the essence of Pegaso, high class and elegant. Consequently, he initially refuses to speak with Neku, whom he views as a mere child who has no business in his store. As Neku makes purchases and raises the store's Friendship Gauge, Akira begins to respect him, offering his name and helping Neku during his visit. He will call Neku "sir".

Etymology

• The name Akira is written in katakana (アキラ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (昭, 明, 亮 or 晶), it could possibly mean:
  • 昭 - "shining, bright".
  • 明 - "bright, light, clear".
  • 亮 - "clear".
  • 晶 - "clear, crystal".
• Akira's surname Yoshii means "lucky, good" (吉) (yoshi) and "well, mine shaft, pit" (井) (i).

Trivia

• His initial coldness to Neku can be further explained that he is payed on commission and thus does not bother speaking to window shoppers (as revealed in Pegaso). This also explains his surprised behavior when Neku makes a purchases early on since he is shocked he misread him.
